LegitMate AU is an automated online-shop risk-signal checker operated by Schmitt Studio, 2/145 Arthur St, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006, Australia.

The service is designed to help shoppers identify publicly visible trust signals and possible warning signs before purchasing from an online store.

By accessing or using LegitMate AU, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

When you submit a shop URL, the service may analyse publicly visible website information such as ABNs, ACNs, business names, contact details, policy pages, payment signals, review links, domain data, redirects and common scam or pressure-sale indicators.

Where configured, the service may use ABN Lookup Web Services and Google Safe Browsing as part of the analysis. These are only signal sources and do not determine the result on their own.

LegitMate AU cannot prove that a shop is safe, unsafe, legitimate, fraudulent, solvent, authorised, compliant with consumer law or suitable for your transaction.

A positive result does not guarantee safety. A negative result does not prove fraud. The service provides automated risk indicators only and is not legal, financial, cybersecurity, consumer, investment or professional advice.

You remain responsible for your own purchase decisions and should carry out your own checks before buying.

The service may rely on third-party or public data sources. Third-party information may be unavailable, delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, withdrawn or changed without notice.

If ABN Lookup integration is enabled, relevant extracts of publicly available ABN Lookup information may be displayed as part of a broader risk-signal report. If Google Safe Browsing is enabled, it is used only as a non-commercial threat-list signal.

LegitMate AU is not affiliated with, endorsed by, approved by or sponsored by the Australian Government, ABN Lookup, the Australian Business Register, the Australian Taxation Office, ASIC, Google, Scamwatch, the ACCC or the Commonwealth of Australia.

Any references to third-party services, organisations or data sources are for identification and informational purposes only.

You must use the scanner only for public online-shop pages that normal shoppers can access.

You must not use the service to scan private networks, localhost addresses, internal systems, intranets, admin dashboards, password-protected pages, checkout pages containing personal details, harmful URLs, illegal content or systems you are not authorised to access.

You must not attempt to bypass rate limits, interfere with the service, overload the scanner, reverse engineer private keys, submit malicious payloads or use the service for unlawful, deceptive or abusive purposes.

The service is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We may change, suspend, limit or discontinue any part of the service at any time, including scan features, third-party integrations and rate limits.

The service may fail to scan some websites due to bot protection, JavaScript rendering, network errors, timeouts, blocked requests, third-party outages or other technical limitations.

The LegitMate AU name, branding, interface, content, code structure, reports and design are owned by Schmitt Studio or used under licence, except for third-party names, marks, data or content that remain the property of their respective owners.

You may use generated reports for personal shopping checks. You must not copy, resell, reproduce or operate a competing service using LegitMate AU branding or content without permission.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Schmitt Studio and LegitMate AU are not liable for loss, damage, cost or expense arising from your use of, or reliance on, the service or scan results, including purchases made from third-party shops.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law where they apply.

You agree to indemnify Schmitt Studio and LegitMate AU against claims, loss, damage, liability, cost or expense arising from your misuse of the service, breach of these terms or unlawful conduct.

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland and the Commonwealth courts of Australia.
